Dave Gregory is currently an assistant U16-19 coach for the Mt Washington Valley Ski Team in North Conway, NH. With more than 35 years of experience, he keeps abreast of the latest rules and regulations of the governing bodies—USSA, and FIS—while maintaining relationships with many national coaches and ski equipment manufacturers.
Dave has served on various committees in USSA/East including the Development Committee and the Alpine Coaches Council. Dave was named the 2005 NH Alpine Coach of the Year and he led the Mt Washington Valley Ski Team to the 2012 USSA Alpine Club of the Year award. He is the former Progam Director of the Mt Washington Valley Ski Team. Former Head Women’s Alpine Coach, Dartmouth College. Former Program Director, Holderness School. Former Assistant Head Coach SDSA Coronet Peak, New Zealand. USCSA and PSIA certified.
He has coached numerous athletes to the US Ski Team, including multiple NCAA and USCSA All-Americans. Dave is most proud of installing a lifelong passion for the sport of skiing in his athletes. Over 90% of his athletes have gone on to ski in college at some level.
Peak Performance Ski Camps is pleased to announce that we are adding two time Olympian and former US Ski Team member Leanne Smith to the coaching staff. Leanne had 2 World Cup podiums in Downhill and was ranked in the top 10 in the World in both Downhill and Super G for many years.
Joining Leanne is fellow US Ski Team member Ace Tarberry who was a World Cup veteran and NCAA All American. Both of them are camp alumni.
Shawn Smith has been a member of the PPSC staff since 1985. He is the Head U16/19 Coach for Mount Snow Academy. He was the former Head Alpine U-16 Coach for Mount Washington Valley Ski Team since 2010. Shawn’s experience also includes: Director of Resort Services, Stevens Pass Resort, WA August, 2002-2010. Director of Ski/Snowboard Education, Racing and Events, Copper Mountain, CO. Director of Training, Copper Mountain, CO. Professional Ski Instructors of America: National Alpine Demonstration Team, Assistant alpine team coach, Alpine team coach, Staff member of PSIA National Academies. Shawn has been an Associate/Guest Coach for the U.S. Ski Team and is a USSA Level 400 certified coach.
